How do I transfer the WordPress website using Migration Centre?
The WordPress Migration Centre automates complete WordPress website migrations, including websites and email, in just a few clicks.
Step 1: Start Migration
Please follow these steps to migrate the WordPress website.
- Reach your Web Hosting Control Panel
- Choose your website from the list
- Choose [Start Website Transfer]
- Enter your previous host login details
- Click [Submit]
- Go to Website Migration to see the status of your migration. You’ll be notified when it’s completed. Meanwhile, you can import your emails from your previous host
- Once the migration status has been completed, you can head to your domain provider’s Domain Management control panel and change the name servers
Step 2: Update Nameservers
After migrating your websites, databases, and email, the final step is to update your domain names. You can transfer your domain name to WordPress Hosting or leave it with its current registrar and point the name servers to your WordPress hosting.
Suppose you update your nameservers with your current domain registrar instead of transferring your domain to WordPress Hosting. In that case, you will need to log in to your domain registrar’s control panel and update the domain nameservers to the following:
- ns1.updatenameserver.com
- ns2.updatenameserver.com
- ns3.updatenameserver.com
- ns4.updatenameserver.com
If your registrar doesn’t support four nameservers, add as many as possible. It takes up to 48 hours for nameserver changes to propagate across the web.
