How do I transfer GTLD domains (ending in .com, .net, .org and most other domains) to WordPress Hosting?

On this page:

Domains ending in .com, .net, .org and most others require two simple steps to transfer from your current provider to WordPress Hosting.

  • Step 1: Get Authorisation Code (Auth or EPP code) from your current domain provider control panel
  • Step 2: Complete the transfer via the WordPress Hosting control panel

Step 1: Get Authorisation Code

  1. Login to your current domain provider and reach your domain control panel
  2. Unlock your domain to prepare for domain transfer
  3. Under Domain transfers, select ‘Request Auth Code’. Please take note of it

Step 2: Complete the transfer

  1. Finally, log in to your WordPress Hosting account, and select Transfer a Domain
  2. Enter the domain name
  3. Enter auth Code
  4. Select Add to Cart
  5. Follow the on-screen instruction and complete the checkout
  6. There’s a GBP 13.00 transfer fee to move the domain but don’t worry. For most TLDs, you’ll get an extra year’s renewal added to the renewal free of charge
  7. An e-mail will be sent within 30 minutes but can take up to 6-8 hours to the Admin Contact
  8. Follow the link in this e-mail and Approve the transfer by entering the Authorisation Code obtained earlier
  9. Once authorised, the transfer will complete automatically within seven days
