How do I upload large WordPress files via FTP?
On this page:
We’d recommend enabling [SSH Action] and then using a client like WinSCP to upload over SSH. There are no limits in this case.
The maximum FTP upload/download size is 5GB, and you’ll need to use the SSH method to transfer larger file sizes.
Upload large WordPress files via FTP
- Reach your Web Hosting Control Panel
- Choose your website from the list
- Click [Log in to Control Panel]
- Select [SSH Access] from the [Security] section
- We permit key-based authentication or password with two-factor authentication
- Enter [Public Key] – The public key should be provided in OpenSSH authorized_keys format
- Enter [Password]
- After setting this you will receive two-factor authentication details that are required with password authentication for SSH
Public keys can be added and removed. It will take up to 30 minutes after the first key has been added for the SSH service to activate, after that key changes are instant
